Subsidy and Eligibility
Gallop for Life is a nonprofit organization that offers need-based subsidy to offset the expense of cancer treatment for equestrians in the United States.
How to apply for a subsidy:
Read the Eligibility Requirements below. If you qualify for a subsidy, complete the application form.
Eligibility requirements:
To receive a subsidy from Gallop for Life you must meet all of the following requirements and provide supporting documentation as described in the Subsidy Program Application.
•Be a cancer patient who has been diagnosed with any type of cancer.
•Demonstrate Financial Need: For most patients, your household income must be at or below 300% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). If you are self-employed in the horse industry and unable to work during treatment, please indicate this on your application.
•Be a full-time US resident receiving treatment in a medical facility in the United States
•Have a clear connection to the horse industry (owner, rider, vet tech, farrier, breeder, trainer, or other related fields).
How you will be notified: You will be notified within two weeks of your submission of a completed application regarding the status of your application. If you have not heard back, please contact us by email at info@gallopforlife.org.
Please note the following important policies regarding the use of your subsidy funds:
•The maximum total subsidy amount available to you will usually be $1,000.00. You will be notified of the total amount of your subsidy once your application has been approved.
•Each patient is eligible to be approved for a single subsidy. If approved, you will not be eligible for future subsidies from Gallop for Life.
•Only expenses incurred during your active treatment are eligible for the subsidy.
Please note: Recipients may be asked to provide testimonials, while not required they help further awareness and serve to help others.
